When I type /q to exit the game, it freezes and then prompts a opcode and a crash which completely freezes my laptop. Any way to fix this?

Try also installing a newer version of DirectX (if you don't have already), and try exiting the application via ESC, Quit game. Restarting your PC is also a good idea. Come back and say what happened
