How 2: Forum moderation

Simple guide for idiots, how to use forum moderation without making it look like a clusterfuck or whatever.

1. How to check if you are a moderator.

Spoiler!

First, you'll have to ensure that you're a forum moderator. How to check? Your name will be under the section/sub-section.

Alright, good! Now you're sure that you actually got forum moderation power. Hooray!

2. How to select a thread/threads.

Moving onto the part where you can unleash your power. First off, you'll have to check the small squares at the right side of a thread.

3. How to use moderation tools.

After you've done that, you'll have to press "moderation tools" - it's now the fun begins!

Something like this would pop up; a list of actions you can do to the selected thread(s).
Example:



After you've done that, you press the "proceed"-button at the end of the list.

4. What each of the options does.

Delete thread(s): Deletes a thread, nothing special. However, it will not be completely gone, only deleted softly, with the ability to revert the action. Only forum moderators can delete them. It will show the original thread creator and the person that deleted it, and a reason (if added).

Undelete thread(s): Reverts the action of deleting a thread, restoring it. Only available if it has been deleted softly.

Delete thread as spam: Read "Delete thread(s)".

Open thread(s): Unlocks a thread/threads after a thread has been closed.

Close thread(s): Locks a thread/threads for posting, however section moderators/forum moderators and above can post on them. Can be done by checking the "Lock thread" once commenting on a section you moderate aswell.

Stick thread(s): Puts a thread on the top of a section, at each page.

Unstick thread(s): Makes a thread normal, not stickied.

Move thread(s): Moves a thread/threads around on the forums.

Note!! Leaving the "Yes" part checked will end up in the thread to leave a redirect link.

Merge thread(s): Merges several threads into one thread. You can choose section for where they end up, plus with that the new title shal be. All posts will be put into one thread.

Apply a prefix: Simply adds a word in front of a thread. Check sections like LSPD Recruitment Office for how a prefix looks like. Can be done via editing the post aswell.

Remove Prefix: Makes a thread's prefix removed. Can be done by editing the post aswell.

View all selected threads: No specific explaination needed.

Deselect all threads: No specific explaination needed.
