ok GTA SA is being extremely stupid... (not launching)

This goes back to my earlier post: http://www.gta-sarp.com/forums/showt...unch-otherwise

The first time I uninstalled, it worked to the point where I was able to exit the game and relaunch it no problem, but suddenly it's doing the same thing again. I tried multiple times to delete GTA SA and SAMP, reinstall fresh clean copy, no mods, but the game keeps doing the same thing... it won't launch after the first time I exit and I have to delete gta_sa.set every single time. I have Windows 10 just in case that impacts anything. Compatibility mode doesn't seem to do much/anything.

Change the compatibility mode to Windows 98/Me, that should work.

I'll test this and see if it does anything after a couple of days. I had to do compatibility change for gta_sa.exe through regedit as for some reason the tab doesn't exist for it in Windows 10.

I think it has something to do with the fact that SA-MP can do 1920x1080 and regular GTA SA can't, and it might be messing up the gta_sa.set ... Still testing.

Do you have any error while opening the San Andreas? If yes, please give a screenshot or state it here.

I feel like people aren't reading the OP... thanks for trying to help, but please understand my issue before giving me suggestions. I have most likely tried all the usual ones.

No, I don't have any errors. It just simply won't launch until I delete gta_sa.set every single time.

EDIT: I've basically found out what the problem is. SAMP won't launch until I go to SP GTA SA and change resolution to whatever it is default. Then I can change it back to 1920x1080 in SAMP. But is there a way to fix it so I don't have to go back every single time to SP to change the resolution?

Well, after a shitload of attempted fixes, I don't know what else to do. I blame Windows 10 entirely. Now I have to turn of my PC completely before I can launch SA-MP again. Is it possible the GTA SA process is still running in the background? Because I can't find it in task manager. Is there some kind of kill cmd for it to try and stop it?

    ~sorry for doublepost~

Apparently, maybe along with the million of plausible fixes I applied to this game, I have fixed the issue. I set my SA-MP shortcut compatibility to Windows XP Service Pack 3 and it seems to work... don't close yet. I will see how it is tomorrow.

May you tell us if anything of the above helped you, so anyone with further notice in this situation could know? It would be nice if you'd tell us how you have done it.

Well, I have applied A TON of fixes that I really at this point can't list, or at least would take a while, but the one thing that seemed to have worked is setting SAMP compatibility to Windows Service Pack 3.

Yeah, that fixed that when my friend had the same problem. Thanks for the info, mostly they'll just need to check this thread, or check info on any forums or mom google.
