Post ~Special Guides for Medics~ Medic RP Guide || Author: Elvira Walker

Los Santos Fire and Medical Department Medic RP Guide

-So. As a medic, you will see LOTS of different RP's, but most will be based around the same thing.

    -So what do you do?

-Well,, first off.. the first thing that you do when you arrive on the scene, is identify yourself as LSFMD. People will be more open to letting you help them at that point.

Things to always bring to a scene
    • Gloves
    • Medic Kit
    • a way to get back up (Partner, radio)

Once you have done this, put on your gloves. Doing so will prevent infection, and possibly lawsuit's.
    THIS IS A MUST

-So once you have identified yourself, and put your gloves on, assess the situation. this can easily be done with

/me examines your body, head to toe.
    /do What do I see?

-People will then tell you what is wrong, and you go from there.

-So in ####, most of the medic RP is the exact same thing, in a different scenario .

    -Either
    A) stabbing
    B) a broken bone
    C) A shooting.

    -------------------------------------------------------------

What to do in each situation?

    ---------------------------------------------
    Situation 1
    ---------------------------------------------
--A man was playing basket ball .. and he fell, breaking his ankle. He can not walk.

    What to do

    - Once you arrive on scene, take your medic kit, and head over to the patient.
    - Immediately identify yourself as LSFMD; State your name, and rank.
    - Put on your latex gloves.

From there, you are set to start the treatment on the man..

/me Examines you, head to toe, what do i see?
    /do what do i see?

    OR

Sir, what is wrong? (And then wait for an answer. I personally use the /me's and /do's)

He tells you his ankle is broken. Now what?

Well whenever you come across a broken bone, you HAVE to break it back into place.

/me goes over to the mans ankle ...
    /me grabs it, supporting it.
/me attempts to break it back into place ...
/do Succeeds, unless you have a reason that it doesn't.

From there, all you have to do ... is wrap/cast it up, and give him some pain killers, and give him crutches from your ambulance.
    -------------------------------------------------
    Situation 2
    -------------------------------------------------

    - A man was walking down the road, when a gang member, came and stabbed him in the stomach. He was lucky enough that someone was there to call 911, and you were first on scene.

    What to do

    AGAIN.

He will tell you that he has been stabbed, in this situation in the stomach. (It is the same for everywhere, but in some organs you must stitch them first, before stitching the skin.)

-At this point, he is bleeding out. You need to work fast in order to save the mans life.

    - Open your medic kit
    - Take out some gauze, towel
    - Apply pressure, attempting to stop the flow of blood.
    - He can lose a lot of blood, but it will eventually slow... once it has done this, Clean the wound with saline, or iodine, then start with the stitches.

/me opens up the suture kit, from his medic kit
/me takes the sutures, in his hand, and starts to stitch the skin. (If the cut is deep enough, you start to stitch the first layer of skin.)
    /do 1/4 /do 2/4 /do 3/4 /do 4/4 DONE.

Then you /me puts the remaining sutures, on the ground, grabs dressing from his medic kit.

DO what ever RP necessary to dress the wound, then give him pain killers, and be on your way.

At this point, the stitches are in, and he is stabilized.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
    Situation 3
    --------------------------------------------------------------

    - A man was walking down the road, when a gang member, came and shot him in the stomach. He was lucky enough that someone was there to call 911, and you were first on scene.

    What to do

    AGAIN.

He will tell you (or you will see) that he has been shot, in this situation in the stomach.

    - He can lose a lot of blood, but it will eventually slow... once it has done this, Clean the wound with saline, or iodine, then start Taking the bullet out of him, with some sterile tweezers.

    - This is the easy part ..

/me Takes a pair of brand new, sterile tweezers out of his medic kit,
/me Sticks them in the wound .. attempting to take the bullet out ...
    /do 1/3 /do 2/3 /do 3/3 ... /do DONE.
    /me has removed the bullet
/me places it off to the side.

Then at this point .. /me after taking out the bullet do any other problems occur?
In real life, taking something out of someone, can in-stabilize them. Whether they start bleeding again, or what ever. (+ It opens up opportunity for more RP.

From there, continue on with stitching up the wound, just like in situation 2.

Hope this guide will be helpful

As a FireFighter and EMS member. This guide is pretty terrible.

You NEVER Break a bone back into place EVER.

you NEVER stitch up a wound yourself.

you NEVER remove a bullet from a patient.

Paramedics/EMT's Dont even carry Stitching equipment with them,

You also dont have crutches in ambulances or painkillers to distribute.

You should ask if the action helps to... sometimes by removing a bullet there is atleast a few assistents and a bullet is never removed on the scene as it can take some time.. by that drive always to a hospital...

and /do 1/3 , /do 2/3 /do 3/3 is like the basic's you rather can ask what happens if you do an action like that

/do Does anything happen when I attempt to remove the bullet , so yes what?
